バスフルート／コントラバスフルート
 
88年に渡独、
95年ドイツ国立ミュンヘン音楽大学大学院修了。
同年、マル ウォルドロン トリオ・終戦50年平和祈念日本ツアーに、
ジーン リー(vo) とともに参加。
その後日独両国でソロ活動を開始。
バスフルート／コントラバスフルートによる表現を探求、独自のスタイルを編み出す。
2003年から五年間は、ドイツ国立トロッシンゲン音楽大学（教育家コース）で
非常勤講師を務め、全ての楽器を対象に即興演奏の指導にあたった。
2010年以降は日本で活動を展開。調性音楽とも無調とも異なる響き、
そしてクセのあるリズムを持った＜未知の懐かしい音＞をテーマに創作。

Tenda moved to Germany in ’88 and graduated the University of Music
and Performing Arts Munich, in ’95.
In ’95 Tenda took part in Mal Waldron Trio’s Japan tour
[in commemoration of 50 years from the end of World War Ⅱ]
(Mal Waldron(p) Jeanne Lee(vo) Toru Tenda(fl)).
After that he started his solo career in both Germany and Japan.
Through many years of experimentation and collaboration with
international musicians, he has developed his own original performing style
and succeeded in bringing out new sounds from Bass Flute and Contrabass Flute.
In 2003-08 he taught improvisation (all instruments) at the educator’s
course at the  University of Music Trossingen.
Since 2010, he has been based in Japan, creating his music focusing on
sounds that are neither tonal nor atonal, and with this motif,
“never heard but somewhere not foreign”.
ライブは一期一会、と、配信どころか記録を残すことさえをも拒んできた自分としては、
今回のコロナ禍下では『無音』を表現手段と考えていた。
カッコつけではなく、要請と自粛という言葉の組み合わせがどうも腑に落ちなかったし、
実際にはそれ以前から自発積極的に、休止の代わりとして『無演奏』したつもりでいたのだ。
しかしこの、“伝わらない”表現方法は、やはり長丁場には向かない。
どうしたものかと思案していたところ、なんと幸いなことにお声掛けいただき、
こちらの新しいプラットフォームに参加させてもらえることになった。
ライブともCDとも異なる配信用の作品をライブハウスで作る、
すなわち無観客公開用公式非公開録音（？）を計画しているが、
少しばかり！？特殊な楽器（写真はコントラバスフルート）の、新しい試みのため、
チョット時間がかかったらごめんなさい！どうぞよろしくお願いします。
